For those who practise ski mountaineering (or simply move across snow-covered winter terrain) and want to learn proper avalanche self-rescue techniques, while also acquiring essential knowledge of snow science (nivology) and avalanche search procedures.

About the event
The activity includes a daily tour in a snowy mountain environment (on skis, snowshoes or simply on foot) during which we will learn how to carry out an effective avalanche search using a transceiver, perform a snow-pack stratigraphy profile to better understand snow layers and their characteristics, and review basic first-aid principles relevant to avalanche scenarios.
Difficulty: Easy
Minimum Group Size: 3 participants
Duration: Half day
Where: The exact location will be communicated within 7 days of the meeting date, based on the most suitable conditions.
Equipment: Avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, plus personal equipment (skis, snowshoes, boots) to move in snowy terrain. Equipment can be rented directly from the Mountain Guide upon request.
