Marmolada – The Queen of the Dolomites An ascent of Punta Penia, the highest summit in the Dolomites and home to the last remaining glacial environment in the range. Together, we will reach the highest point of the Dolomites by crossing the Marmolada Glacier, travelling through a unique high-alpine landscape of ice, rock, and spectacular views. This classic ascent offers an unforgettable experience on the "Queen of the Dolomites" and a rare opportunity to explore the only true glacier in the Dolomites.

About the event
Experience Description
Depending on the group, we will ascend in a single day (for very well-trained hikers), starting from Passo Fedaia. Shortly after passing Pian dei Fiacconi, we will reach the glacier’s edge, where we will continue roped up and wearing crampons.
After crossing the glacial basin, we will climb a short via ferrata section (part of the normal route) that leads us onto the Schiena del Mulo ridge, and from there it is a short final ascent to the summit of the Queen of the Dolomites.
To reduce effort and break up the ascent, the experience can also be split into two days, with an overnight stay at the staffed mountain hut located near the summit (please contact me for details of this option).
What to Bring
Helmet, harness, crampon-compatible mountaineering boots, crampons and ice axe.
